Brian,
Thanks for listening and thanks for swinging by the message board. Mike and I would chime in all the time if P1's like you wanted to chat about the show, the station or Mike's body fat index.
The point of the Callahan segment was our search to try and find out exactly WHY things are happening the way they are at Valley Ranch and, specifically, how and why that might relate to Callahan.
In prepping for the segment, we tried to use some contacts we had to find out a little bit about what has made him a success in places he's done well, and what made him fail in places it didn't work out.
In general, he comes off as a smooth dude that interviews well and, therefore, was awesome at recruiting.
Every coach has input into what the roster is going to look like and, most coaches would rather be awesome and younger as opposed to awesome and old...wouldn't you agree?
Love the show.
Comment on what you said today about Callahan and the Raiders. Him fighting against the veterans I think was poor management on his part. First, he is not the GM. It was not his role to push out veterans. Second, those vets took him to the Super Bowl, it's not like they were an 8-8 team that wasn't working. They were Vets playing at a high level.
